When I first opened my April 2015 box, I was seriously amazing by the packaging on the candle. Is that weird? To get excited about packaging? I’m keeping it. Haha! Anyway, there were no spoilers at all for this month so while the May box has a spoiler already, this one was a total mystery.
is one of my all-time favorite boxes. I think if I was to cut off all my subscriptions, I wouldn’t be able to let go of this one. It’s not the cheapest box but it has to most fun and exciting items in it. There’s such a great variety so there’s always something I like. Plus, it definitely has the best track record of all my boxes. I’ve been subscribed for over a year and I think there’s only been two boxes that weren’t all that thrilling. Not thrilling but they still had useful items, I have to admit.
The Cost: $39.95/month
What You Get: Full size, premium products dealing with Home, Fashion, Fitness, Beauty and Food!
Dabney Lee Dottie Umbrella– This is a navy and white polka-dot umbrella with an automatic open button. I’m gonna say it right now… I love the colors, love the dots and love the hot pink handle! This baby is mine. I live in Seattle so you’d think I’d have a million umbrellas but I don’t. I have one. Now I have two.
I can count my hand how many times I’ve used that other umbrella. I feel like there’s an unspoken rule about Seattle and rain. True Seattleites don’t use umbrellas, we embrace our rainy heritage! Or something along those lines. More likely it’s because when it’s raining it’s also windy and umbrellas and wind are a recipe for disaster. I only use them for hair and outfit protection when going to formal affairs.

One Love Organics Gardenia + Tea Antioxidant Body Serum– As you can see from the photo, this is in a spray bottle. Personally, I am loving the trend toward body serums rather than body lotions. However, this is not a serum like I’m used to. This is an oil. It’s too runny to be a serum, I would definitely categorize this as an oil spray. With that being said, it smells divine and I’m totally going to use this.
Ingredients: capric/caprylic triglyceride, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil*, camellia sinensis (green tea) seed oil*, cucurbita pepo (pumpkin) seed oil*, fragrance/parfum*, laminaria ochroleuca (kelp) extract, hippophae rhamnoides (sea buckthorn) oil*, salvia hispanica (chia) seed extract* (and) rosmarinus ocinalis (rosemary) leaf extract*, calendula ocinalis flower extract*, aspalathus linearis (rooibos tea) extract*, limnanthes alba (meadowfoam) seed oil
What makes me extra happy? No lavender anywhere to be found!

I’m not sure what I think rhubarb smells like since it’s been ages since I’ve eaten it but this approximation totally works for me. It has a soft citrus scent, in my opinion. Very nice. I’ve already lit it and can’t wait til the scent fills the room. I love that it comes in a mason jar, too. I can never have enough of them. This is a 9oz candle with a burn time of 50-70 hours.
Value: $20
Flip and Tumble 24-7 Bag– This is made of ripstop nylon and easily folds up into a ball. When it’s unpacked, it’s a nice size for groceries or a change of clothing.
I have to use these types of bags because the city where I shop banned plastic bags. I’m always grateful to have more since I manage to lose them often enough. /sigh
Value: $12
The gift card is actually a special extra! Mott50 makes sun protection clothing, among other things. Everything is cute but expensive so $25 won’t buy you anything. I don’t count anything where you have to spend extra money as part of the box so I’m glad Popsugar doesn’t either.
Potting Shed Creations Garden in a Bag Basil– Moar basil! My dream of making homemade pesto is getting more and more viable! Between this and the one in the Fabfitfun box, I should have a forest of basil for my pesto-making needs. 😀
However! Do not do what I did and accidentally squeeze the bag with the dirt in it while putting water in. Dirt clogs sinks. Whoops. That was a mess. Other than that, it was easy peasy and hopefully this stuff starts growing.

VERDICT: Popsugar is one of my favorite subs because there’s always something to love. In this case I like everything in the box which is always a big win. The umbrella is SO cute and I actually hope it rains when I’m wearing my new dress because this will match perfectly. Love the candle! It has excellent throw and makes the entire upstairs smell fabulous. The body serum oil smells so good I want to slather myself in it. The reusable bag is handy and the basil herb garden will be awesome if it actually works. Love it! It seems like most boxes have six items but these are all great. The box is worth $100 costs $40 for it so it’s like paying $8 an item. I’d do that! :
